A visionary sound architect and creative force whose work lives at the intersection of technology and storytelling.
A lifelong musician, audio engineer, and storyteller,
Adam Horak brings decades of
technical mastery and creative depth to feature film storytelling.
His artistic journey began in 1980 as a guitarist and bassist,
evolving into songwriting by 1987 and professional recording,
engineering, and production work by the late 1990s.
Over the years, he has engineered and produced countless
recording sessions, blending musical precision
with narrative sensibility.
His career includes serving as Head Audio Engineer
for Norwegian Cruise Lines aboard the M/S Seaward (1994–1996),
followed by eight years with Walt Disney World as an
audio engineer, mixing and supporting major live productions across
EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Studios.
He has also been a long-standing member of
IATSE Local 631, contributing over three decades of
union work in live entertainment and production environments.
Adam holds an Audio Engineering degree from Full Sail University
as well as a two-year degree in HVAC/AC technology.
In parallel with his creative career, he has worked on
and off in the HVAC industry for nearly 39 years,
including employment with major commercial
air-conditioning companies from 1985 to 1992.
This deep, hands-on experience with energy systems,
infrastructure, and environmental mechanics informs
the scientific grounding and realism in his storytelling.
Transitioning from sound to story, his writing roots began
with an early attempt at a novel inspired by geopolitical thrillers,
later evolving into science fiction—where
science, philosophy, technology, and humanity collide.
He has always been drawn to epic and cerebral genre storytelling,
with formative influences including Star Wars and
the work of George Lucas, as well as films such as
The Matrix, Dark City, and Prometheus.
His work emphasizes expansive world-building, moral complexity,
and systems-driven narratives rooted in real science.
A devoted environmental steward and self-described tree hugger,
his stories are grounded in a deep respect for
Earth, balance, and consequence, often exploring
humanity’s relationship with power, energy, and the natural world.
His writing reflects a rare fusion of
technical expertise, cinematic scope, and a lifelong commitment to
both creativity and craft.
